Current Works

We are currently involved in quite a number of high end residential refurbishment projects throughout London and this type of work forms the bulk of the work we are generally involved in.

However we are currently engaged on a very high profile project at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel opposite Hyde Park.
Back in June this year the hotel had just finished being refurbished in an 18 month long project costing an estimate £185m, when a fire broke out.

The hotel was safely evacuated and has remained closed since. It is due to re-open in Spring 2019.

Butcher’s have been hired by the specialist interiors company VTV Interiors to provide areas of Fibrous Plaster mouldings to match the existing ones in the hotel.

There is a patterned ceiling layout and large ornate cornice in the main large lift lobbies on various levels, plus numerous column heads.

We are also working on the main staircase doing new cornice & mouldings on the half level landings.
There are also numerous guest rooms that require new cornice installed.

The project is a large and very challenging one as there are so many trades working in the hotel trying to complete works as quickly as possible to get the hotel opened again ASAP.
It is quite a chaotic working environment in terms of logistics for getting goods into the job and moving around the job, but it is also very disciplined in the way it is being very professionally run by the main contactors Vinci.

Our team on site are currently making excellent progress with our works and we are very pleased with the end results of many hours of workshop manufacture time and site fitting time that we are seeing come together as a finished package of work.
